DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Researches, analyzes and resolves customer inquiries and complaints to provide quality customer assistance. Receive calls, emails, and return customer voice mails and emails to address customer inquiries regarding Impact Fee Administration services and deliverables. Monitor Q-Flow a next-in-line application to queue customers to the appropriate floor and service. Assist customers with completing their Wastewater Capacity Application (WCR). Perform data entry activities to record customer information. Responsible for generating sales orders to allow for collection of Impact Fees. Scan, upload, and email Wastewater Capacity Reservation (WCR) Letters. Responsible for ensuring all applications are completed through use of the permitting software.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of stooping, and/or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds.
This is a Houston Public Works Department position at the Tier III Level.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Six (6) months of administrative or customer service-related experience is required.
Substitution: An Associate’s degree may be substituted for the experience requirement.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
None
Preferences shall be given to applicants with experience in customer service, the use of ILMS, Q-Flow, and/or Microsoft office environment; Word, Excel, and Outlook.
**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**

However, the department may administer a skills assessment test.

Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
