Description

The Customer Service Representative plays an important part in the company and involves heavy phone services. The individual will be responsible for a myriad of tasks, all of which are designed to help ensure the customers’ needs are meet. The Customer Service Representative role is to field requests from customers for their parts needs and help fulfill those sales. For this position, mechanical knowledge is helpful. The ideal candidate would also have knowledge of waste equipment and heavy-duty truck systems as well as comfort with computer-based inventory and order management systems. As a key member of the company’s parts team, the CSR will work collaboratively with the Field Service Representative, to grow the customer portfolio of Wastebuilt products. This individual will be an extension of the FSR and will provide support as product expert and help advise customers of products. Customer Service Representatives have the authority to exercise judgement in pricing and discounts for larger part orders while maintaining gross profit margins.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Maintain existing customer base through customer service and product support
  • Thorough understanding of parts and/or understanding of chassis, hose and fittings, maintenance and repair
  • Must have a desire and ability to learn a broad range of Wastebuilt products as well as other supplier product lines
  • Strong bias toward providing customers with the highest level of service possible
  • Attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment, with effective interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving, business decision-making, pattern recognition, and memory skills
  • Ability to be polite and engaging when dealing with internal/external customers coupled with the ability to defuse tense situations
  • Understanding the functions of heavy-duty truck systems (familiarity with refuse handling equipment is a plus)
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office software suite – especially Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and ability / willingness to learn Inventory, cataloging, and order management systems

Education and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of waste equipment or a field that is directly or indirectly related to the industry
  • Minimum three (3-5) years previous office environment experience with a customer service focus in an industrial setting
  • Minimum High School Diploma. Some college or college degree preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office products, namely Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Bi-lingual a plus (Spanish/English)
