Snelling Talent Partners is seeking a temp-to-hire Customer Service Representative for our nonprofit client in Overland, Missouri.

Monday - Friday | 8am - 5pm | $15 per hour

After 600 hours in the position, you will be eligible for conversion to a permanent employee!

50% of this position is conducting intake interviews with customers via phone and email. The other 50% of this position is working in the food pantry, gathering customer items, and stocking items.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a friendly, patient, respectful, professional, and customer-service-oriented attitude at all times.
• Perform online computer intakes, maintaining accuracy and thorough documentation. Gather all information necessary to assess individual and family needs for services and determine eligibility.
• Perform referrals. Make appropriate referrals and follow up on status, including completing paperwork and applications for agency programs.

• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation on the computer and in online files.
• Provide food orders to customers and assist in maintaining a clean, well-functioning food pantry. Maintain cleanliness, order food, and assist with pickups and stocking shelves.
• Provide front-desk coverage during breaks and absences of the Receptionist.
• Perform general office duties, including typing, filing and copying.
• Assist with agency events such as Resource Fairs and Poverty Simulations.
• May assist with teaching and/or facilitating life skills classes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Customer service experience in a direct, face-to-face capacity preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with coworkers, managers, and customers
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience operating a multi-line telephone system
• Basic math skills
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
