Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Directly responsible for the performance management and hiring of employees within the department.
- Provide leadership and training to front end staff with regard to following procedures, policies, strong customer service skills and professionalism. Train new Customer Service Representatives (CSRs).
- Manage the personnel functions for retail branch employees including staff scheduling, approval of leave requests, time cards, payroll, training and evaluating performance with regard to proficiency, morale and policy compliance.
- Maintain documentation regarding employee performance and meet with employees periodically to discuss progress toward work goals.
- Assess training needs on an ongoing basis and conduct department meetings and training as necessary. Provide supervision of retail branch banking staff.
- Meet weekly with Financial Services Representative (FSR) to discuss pending and new business, prospects and follow-up plans; monitoring maturing CDs, product campaign tracking and other related new accounts business.
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge and skills in the areas of New Accounts, including proper account ownership and required documentation for all types of accounts; vault procedures, security procedures, certifications and all branch retail operations in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure coverage of all areas of the retail aspect of the branch including vault, safe deposit boxes, front counter, ATM and telephones.
- Provide backup for Customer Service Representatives (tellers) , FSR (New Accounts) and Branch Manager, as needed.
- Responsible for branch audits/certifications.
- Maintain official check log and audit monthly. Comply with Bank policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal banking regulations.
- Conduct periodic spot checks of reports including safe deposit maintenance, ATM/Debit card maintenance, returned mail logs and check pickup onto logs.
- Periodically monitor interactions of CSRs and FSR with customers to ensure quality control. Give direction and make recommendations as necessary.
- Actively provide sales and service to new and existing customers as needed and refer customers to appropriate staff for additional new services.
- Assist retail branch staff with customer research and problem resolution.
- Handle customer issues escalated by the CSRs and FSR.
- Perform routine retail branch and customer service duties, reconcile cash drawer, accept retail and commercial checking and savings deposits, process loan payments, cash checks and savings withdrawals and assist with night depository duties.
- Responsible for the security, accountability and control of retail branch cash and negotiable items.
