You will work with members to discover their insurance needs and advise them on customized solutions that will give them peace of mind.

Lebanon, Waynesville, Rolla, Fort Leonard Wood and Osage Beach

RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Work incoming leads and make outbound sales calls to generate production to consistently achieve minimum new business premium goals.
  • Process insurance requests, review existing insurance policies, sell additional insurance products/coverages to fill additional needs, and requote as necessary to retain the business.
  • Ensure growth of the book of business is consistent with and in support of the strategic goals and objectives of the Insurance Agency.
  • Promote products of carriers and strategic partners and achieve cross product referral goals.
  • Remain up to date on the latest developments & trends to maintain a competitive status within the industry.
  • Build relationships with partner credit unions to foster lead generation and book of business growth— Including attendance at community engagement events and participation in retail staff referral development/product training.
  • Be available to discuss insurance where the member would like to do business, e.g., in person, phone, video. Travel to and between partner credit union financial centers is required.

Qualities and Abilities

  • Knowledge — Possesses strong ability for independent thinking that allows for identification of problems and corresponding solutions. Demonstrates a superior commitment to the credit union philosophy and understands the importance of service standards. Possesses overall knowledge of insurance products and willingness to keep up with industry trends and changes in regulations.
  • Communication — Displays a high level of trust. Expresses self professionally in both oral and written communication. Must be comfortable communicating with employees at various organizational levels.
  • Productivity — Possesses excellent ability to organize work, plan activities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines / service level agreements for work assigned. Must be flexible and have an outstanding ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Sales — Must have exceptional sales and prospecting skills. Actively interacts with existing and potential members to identify insurance needs, determining appropriate solutions and is successful in recommending solutions. Comfortable in offering other key credit union products.
  • Judgement — Sustains high level of sound judgment and reasoning skills. Remain even tempered when faced with challenging situations.
  • Accuracy — Performs tasks correctly and efficiently. Has excellent attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal Skills —Works both independently and as part of a fast-paced insurance agency team. Displays an unwavering work ethic. Is empathetic, patient, encouraging and inspiring. Education/Experience

  • Property, Casualty, Life, Accident & Health insurance licenses are preferred, but not immediately required. If not already held, the individual must obtain P&C license within first 90 days of employment and then Life, Accident & Health within agreed upon timeframe from management.
  • Proficiency in rating systems and agency management systems as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet use required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*
The position requires the following physical activities within varying environmental conditions:

  • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position which may be standing or sitting for a prolonged period of time.
  • Occasional travel or moving from one office location to another or from one department to another at the headquarters building.
  • Occasional lifting, moving, or adjusting objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Constant communication with others through various channels including verbal, email, and chat of which the last two may require consistent use of a keyboard and mouse or another electronic device.
  • Work will be in a commercially reasonable temperature-controlled environment.
  • Occasional temporary exterior site review which could be in outdoor elements of wind, rain, or snow.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,085.63 - $44,662.26 per year
