Crisis Ministry Coordinator Job Description
Reports to: Crisis Ministry Director
Desired Qualifications
Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s Degree in social work plus related field is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Active volunteer experience with ABCCM is also a plus. The position focus is on managing volunteers with good nurturing skills and organizational skills. Good communication skills are essential for team building, communicating with collaborative partners in the emergency assistance network. This position will assist the Crisis Director with accountability for benevolent funds, distribution of ABCCM resources, and tracking activities and help complete monthly reports. Encourage volunteers to share their faith understanding with others.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain the organizational structure which encourages and engages volunteer and church participation.
- Serve as primary supervisor of volunteer counselors, food pantry attendants, food pick up volunteers, clothing room volunteers, data entry volunteers, receptionists, and food service volunteers (if applicable).
- Assist with volunteer orientation and ongoing training of volunteer in all areas of Crisis ministry.
- Maintain ABCCM confidentiality policies and procedures for client information.
- Coordinate client flow and volunteer flow to expedite services in a timely manner.
- Assist with client files review and quality control and then submit for data entry.
- Maintain fiscal control procedures for all program services.
- Maintain a clean and safe facility for clients, volunteers, and staff. Assist with inventory/ordering of supplies to insure adequate volunteer resources.
- Collaborate with BEACON and DHHS/Community Navigator counterparts to help volunteers and clients develop short-term and long-term strategies with supportive services that lead to stable income and thriving individuals/families.
- Provide supportive leadership to other site coordinators on CEM (Community Engagement Market) events with DHHS counterparts or to help fill gaps during absences.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
