This position is part of the FEMA grant to provide disaster recovery support resulting from Hurricane Ian, which is currently funded through 10/31/2023. At the end of the grant funding, the position will be concluded, and staff will be free to apply to other program openings within the agency.
Position Summary & Duties: Works with individuals, families, and groups to provide outreach, emotional support, individual and group crisis counseling, public education, and referrals when needed. Is synonymous with term "outreach worker." Represents program in the community and networks with other agencies and partners to ensure needs of survivors are met. Provides presentations to community groups on disaster reactions, coping skills, stress management, and the CCP. The general schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with some weekends and overtime as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred; trauma and crisis counseling experience required.
