Summary of Position: Indiana Wesleyan University invites applications for a full-time Criminal Justice faculty position on its residential campus in Marion, IN. The position carries with it an expectation for inclusive teaching, mentoring, scholarly productivity, and academic service. All candidates must be dedicated to liberal learning and the integration of faith and learning within a Wesleyan Christian perspective.
The Criminal Justice Department is housed within the Division of Behavioral Sciences. The Division provides leadership in psychology and sociology for the general education program and services more than 400 majors in addictions counseling, criminal justice, pre-art therapy, psychology, and social work.
Position will be open for Fall of 2023.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Job responsibilities include coordinating the Criminal Justice Department and curriculum, teaching courses within the criminal justice major, as well as advising and mentoring students within the program and serving on assigned divisional and university committees. Faculty research and participation/leadership in state and national professional organizations are expected and supported by the division and university.
Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
- Candidates should possess or be in pursuit of a terminal degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field.
Experience
- Candidates with practitioner experience in the field are preferred.
