Job Summary

The Cost Analyst will support the offshore operations teams and is responsible for developing, implementing, and updating the tools and systems necessary to effectively support Operations. The position will provide the necessary transparency and feasibility in coordination with accounting and management information systems to facilitate meeting company performance and financial goals.

The Cost Analyst will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote.

Responsibilities

Retrieve and analyze data from various reporting systems.

Track and benchmark corporate/team metrics.

Assist with SAP processing and tracking.

Coordinate with field personnel to ensure accurate data entry.

Manage and track all group/team KPI’s as required.

Create monthly updated Agenda for the Operations Support team. Collaborating with P&P and Ops Support team members to ensure accurate dates are represented.

Tactfully and effectively interact with the various stake holder counter parts to ensure information is accurately communicated in a timely manner.

Develop and manage planning cost metrics and tools required to track and report performance data.

Prepare or assist in monthly/quarterly/annual budget forecasting, cost tracking & financial metric reporting.

Identify and perform gap analysis on variations between actuals versus budgets to advise internal clients accordingly.

Implement, administer, and maintain OPEX control processes to track and report project budgets, commitments, expenditures, forecasts, and accruals.

Prepare forecasts, cost trend reports, and monitor costs.

Set up meeting reservations, organize presentation documents, request information from and collaborate with engineers and managers on required data, quality checking information provided, and hosting annual AOP meetings (both virtual and in person as determined). Includes interaction with Land group and partners.

Completing monthly Chemical Usage and Inventory reports to send to JIB for purposes of accounting and billing partners.

Support audits of financial information by both internal and external auditors

Perform ad hoc financial support / review as needed

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business Administration/Engineering

Minimum 3 years’ experience in oil and gas cost analysis within field operations

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with field operations, engineering, and management

Working knowledge of cost accounting concepts

Proficiency with SAP Business System Required

Applied knowledge of planning & cost analysis

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

Experience with databases such as Spotfire / Hyperion

Strong interpersonal and analytical skills and the ability to work with internal and external contacts

Must have a strong work ethic and a passion for excellence

Able to accept a challenge and reciprocate the required deliverables
