The DOC has several openings for Trainee – Corrections Officers at various work locations in Minnesota, including: Faribault, Lino Lakes, Oak Park Heights, Red Wing (youth), Rush City, Shakopee (women), St. Cloud, Stillwater, Togo, and Willow River/Moose Lake.

Corrections Officers provide for a controlled setting to ensure the safety and security of the MCF by supervising incarcerated people, encouraging positive behavior, and preparing them for successful transition upon their release.

We will provide you with a paid, comprehensive 6-week training program to ensure you have the knowledge and skills needed to perform the important work of affecting change in individuals from incarceration to successful release into the community. After completion of the 6-week training program, you will move into a Corrections Officer 1 position and be eligible for a salary increase and promotion within one year to Corrections Officer 2, plus another salary increase within six months of your promotion.

Please know that the Correctional Facility is a 24-hour operation. New officers will typically begin working evenings or overnights after completing the training academy.
