Responsibilities

• Verifying customer orders.
• Coordinating as needed with sales departments.
• Planning of return freight with the backhaul department.
• Schedule and appoint return freight as required.
• Coordinating with local dispatchers to ensure manpower and equipment availability for planned volume/deliveries.
• Maintain system software data bases to include delivery schedules and windows
• Communicate efficiently and professionally with division management, district sales managers, and member retailers in a timely manner.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures.
  

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, colleagues and managers
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, et al)
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• 1-2 years of routing, load planning, dispatching or similar experience within the transportation industry
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
