Job description
The Cook/Food Service Worker is responsible for the preparation and serving of all menu items for various meal periods to include; Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks. Additional responsibilities include cleaning and dishwashing, as well as the care of some equipment, contributing to the smooth running of the kitchen and ensuring the needs of the students are met according to State and Federal Regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the preparation and cooking of meals according to the master menu.
· Ensure that all meals are prepared according to the dietary needs of the students and Federal and State regulations.
· Serving of Meals.
· Responsible for ensuring the kitchen and dining areas including all equipment are maintained in a safe and sanitary manner according to Federal and State regulations.
· Cleaning and sanitizing work stations and equipment.
· Support the Food Service Manager in completion and maintenance of all records (i.e.: menus, temperature logs, etc.)
· Support the Food Service Manager for all State and Federal inspections as they relate to the Food Service Department.
· May receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs and supplies.
· Responsible for performing various other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager.
· Responsible for adherence to the Harmony Hill School Code of Ethics and Policies and Procedures.
· Is sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the School’s population.

Qualifications:
· High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
· Must be available for Weekends and some Holidays.
· 2-to-5 years of related work experience.
· Good working knowledge of food preparation for large groups.
· Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
· Maintain current certification in the State of Rhode Island for food safety certification.
· Maturity of judgment and behavior.
· Able to physically lift and move objects in accordance with job duties.
· Able to stand for the majority of shift.
· Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance.
· Maintains a positive attitude.
· Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
· Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
