Located throughout the New Jersey Counties of Passaic, Morris and Sussex, we provide professionally based social services, including Behavioral Health Programs, Veterans Services, Children’s Programs, Senior and Aging Services and much more.
Cook (12 Month)
Hours: Full Time - 35 Hours (Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm)
Location: Paterson NJ
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Assists in general food preparation, cleaning, and sanitation.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in cooperation with the Kitchen Staff to assist in food preparation in accordance with planned menu, including: portion control and menu substitutions.
- Be aware of children's food allergies and restrictions. Arrange food substitutions as necessary.
- Monitor food temperature to ensure hot foods are 140 degrees or above as required by food safety guidelines.
- Adhere to the Paterson Division of Health and State Licensing Requirements for the proper cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen and rest time materials.
- Assist in the classroom in an as needed basis to ensure proper adult-child ratios.
- Report any accident or unusual occurrence to Program Director or Director's Designee before the end of your scheduled work day.
- Adhere to Catholic Family and Community Services policies and procedures.
- Responsible for other duties that may be assigned from time to time to support the effective and efficient operation of Catholic Charities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a High School Diploma, or GED, and at least (1) year of experience in a commercial kitchen, or restaurant.
- Must hold Food Handler's Certification from Paterson Department of Health.
- Must possess good reasoning/comprehension, time management and communication skill.
- Ability to read and write in English a plus.
