About our facility:

· We are a family-owned and operated, 40 bed skilled nursing facility, with a warm and friendly atmosphere.

· We offer health insurance, paid sick leave, and paid vacation time.

We are accepting applications for a cook.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Reviews menus prior to preparation of food.

· Inspects special diet trays to ensure that the correct diet is served to the resident.

· Performs administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submits to the Dietary Manager.

· Ensures all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.

· Assists in ensuring the menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

· Assists in establishing food services production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.

· Prepares meals in accordance with planned menus, standardized recipes, special diet orders and established portion control procedures.

· Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.

· Disposes of food and waste in accordance with established policies.

· Ensures that food supplies for the next meal are readily available.

· Assists in inventorying and storing incoming food, supplies, etc.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Knowledge of the methods and practices used in institutional cooking.

· Knowledge of regulations surrounding safe food handling.

· Ability to push/pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and a minimum distance of three feet.
