Ensight Solutions is currently seeking a talented Controls Panel Builder to support the Ensight Automation team. Our Controls Panel Builder plays an important role on the Ensight Controls team. This roles primary purpose is to build and install industrial electrical panels, troubleshoot machine issues and support the engineering/controls team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build, troubleshoot and install machine electrical systems including PLC, VFDs, solenoids, servos, control panels, control stations and all machine related control devices including field wiring on all machinery produced.
  • Cut, strip, crimp and wire 26 AWG 12 AWG per electrical prints with a high degree of accuracy
  • Perform High Voltage wiring as needed (14 AWG 2 AWG normally, 1/0 300 MCM occasionally)
  • Read, understand and utilize various engineering and manufacturing documents including bills of materials, assembly drawings, assembly instructions, wiring schematics and diagrams
  • Straighten, align, and organize wire to professional standards
  • Dimensionally lay out back panels and externally mounted devices. Mount devices to back panels and enclosures using a variety of methods including drilling and tapping steel
  • Operate computerized terminal, wire labeling and engraving equipment
  • Check work to ensure error-free products
  • Keep red-lines of any changes required during manufacturing and turn in to supervisor/engineer on completion of the project
  • May be asked to perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associates degree in electronics, preferred

Specialized Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics / diagrams preferred
  • Electrical troubleshooting, control voltage, including up to 480VAC preferred
  • Proficiency using hand and power tools in a safe manner
  • Proficiency using precision measurement tools
  • Good hand dexterity and strength
  • High motivation level and ability to multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English without the aid of an interpreter
  • Familiarity with stainless steel metal fabrication is a plus!
