Kate Somerville Skincare is looking for an energetic, highly motivated professional to join the business as Contract Manufacturing Lead.

The Kate Somerville brand is in the midst of a period of high growth and transformation. This role is key to delivering on our goals and objectives and represents an opportunity to have a major impact on the Supply Chain capabilities and performance of Kate Somerville.

Reporting into the Manager of Supply Chain Planning and Procurement, this role will play a pivotal part in building best-in-class operational capability and driving transformation in the areas of supplier performance, supply chain agility and supply chain cost. The role is accountable for the performance of our contract manufacturing network, including on-time, in-full, on-quality performance. The role will also be responsible for driving cost-saving and supply chain agility opportunities and identifying and qualifying new suppliers to support innovation and business continuity.

The role will work closely with the leads in the rest of the business (Marketing, R&D, Quality, and Finance), playing a critical role in cross company projects such as new product or commercial innovation. As Kate Somerville is in a period of dynamic growth and transformation, the responsibilities below are expected to change and evolve as business needs change, providing opportunity for professional growth and development. This is a hybrid position and requires being in our Culver City office 3 days/week (currently Tue-Thu).


KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Supplier Management
    • Primary point of contact for all contract manufacturers. Manage contract manufacturers to deliver purchase orders on time, in full, on quality by leading regular supplier production reviews and holding
    • Participate in development of key vendor performance metrics. Track vendor performance against key metrics and drive accountability across supply base.
    • Lead regular supplier reviews with key supplier partners. Advance deeper collaboration with strategic partners to shorten leadtimes and increase Supply Chain flexibility.
    • Partner with R&D to evaluate and onboard potential new suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • New Product Innovation
    • Primary Supply Chain point of contact on all new product innovation.
    • Coordinate innovation activities at contract manufacturers including product quotation, make and fill specifications, pilot production, sample shipment and related development activities.
    • Ensure new product launch products are produced on time to meet customer readiness dates.
  • Additional responsibility may include
    • Supply Planning – create supply plan to optimize inventory efficiency and customer service.
    • Purchase Order Cycle - Manage product and material purchase order cycle from purchase to delivery.
    • Item Master Data – complete set up of new items and maintenance of existing item master data within ERP.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
  • 2-5 years of relevant and progressive supply chain or procurement experience
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and planning logic in cosmetics, personal care, CPG, and FDA regulated industries.
  • Experience with active negotiation and strong decision-making skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and processes - experience with NetSuite and/or Oracle Supply Chain Planning Cloud a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Excel building complex models and analyzing large data sets.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, willing to learn, ask questions, seek solutions, active problem solve, and push for change
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills - written and verbal, and ability to build cross-functional partnerships and work with cross-functional teams.

The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.

This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
