Position Title: Construction Permits/Starts Administrative Assistant
Position Reports to: Business Manager
Location: Corporate Office located in Colorado Springs, CO
Occasional travel to Pueblo, Canyon City
Career Level: Entry level
Salary: Full Time, Exempt Salary (DOE) $45K - $50K
Required Education and Experience:
Minimum High school diploma, or bachelor’s degree preferred in Construction Management

Primary Operational Objectives: This role requires onsite project interaction among all trade partners and team members, as well as oversight of permitting application process. The position will perform a variety of hands-on construction duties and should have background experiences to support such tasks. This position will primarily assist the Business Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with a variety of onsite project duties
- Effectively communicate with trade partners and team members
- Ensure safety codes and protocol are maintained
- Scheduling worksite appointments with trades as needed
- Obtain documents from Architects to facilitate the permit application process
- Obtain all required approvals for permits and act as liaison between the company and each municipality
- Prepare and submit applications to various agencies/ boards having jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvals
- Review any plans issued out of the division for correct revision dates and review start packages for accuracy
- Coordinate paperwork and applications
- Submit paperwork for permits
- Maintain database of trade contractor, supplier, and vendor contact information.
- Data Entry in Builder Trend
- Permitting, Septic, Metro District (ACC Submittal) and driveway applications
- Tracking all applications and when approved and can move forward to final permit stage
- Work with the ordering of soils drills and site plans of each lot and track through the permit process
- Entering of invoices and VPO’s for payments
- Export pricing to excel spreadsheet
- Maintain and verify all insurance certificates, trade partner agreements and W-9 forms.
- Prepare documents for home closings.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Exceptional Customer Service
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player. Ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Ability to be organized, prioritize, multi-task and take initiative.
- Work safely always and promote safety to others around you.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Must possess good time management skills and be a self-starter
- Ability to work closely with senior management team
- Must be able to employ effective skills in time management, quality assurance, problem-solving, and multi-tasking.
- The individual must be adept with sharp communication skills, excellent customer service, and is respected and approachable among trades, clients, and coworkers.
Work Requirements
- Work full-time schedule with flexibility for overtime when necessary
- Ability to work the "On-Call" program when needed (respond to emergency calls or other issues during off-hours)
- Valid driver's license required
- Travel: up to 90%, local travel required within designated region
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to potential buyers, trade partners, external officials, and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company
