Constitution Surgery Center East - Medical Materials Coordinator

Busy outpatient surgery center seeking an organized and detail oriented Full-time Medical Materials Coordinator. The Materials Coordinator is responsible for all ordering of supplies and equipment at the surgery center.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

· Knowledge of materials management and supply chain operations

· Familiarity with operating room equipment, understanding of operating room
products and their uses.

· Familiarity with Ophthalmology and Orthopedic implants.

· Knowledgeable of Inventory Control System. Experience with ENVI preferred.

· Knowledge of using an EMR. Amkai Office (EMR)

· Responsible for all Purchase Orders and proper ordering/receiving of all clinical
materials

· Responsible for quarterly physical inventory counts and labeling/organization of
various storage areas in coordination with OR Manager & Director of Nursing.

· Oversee all cost savings projects and key involvement in the case-costing
committee

· Manages backorders and recalls. Finds replacements/substitutes and
communicates with physician & staff when necessary.

· Maintains a clean work area

· Ability to work directly with Physicians, Nursing, and vendors to ensure
ordering/receiving and purchase orders are properly completed.

· Ability to review financial budget and determine variances. Ability to negotiate
pricing and cost savings measures.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION

· High school graduate or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

· 3-5 years' experience in an Operating Room or healthcare logistics/supply chain
position.

· Knowledge of Ophthalmology and Orthopedic instrumentation (Total Joint
knowledge a plus)

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND:

· Standing or walking most of the day. Sufficient mobility and strength to move
throughout department and lift heavy items weighing up to 20-25 pounds.

· 8 hour shift: preferably 7:30am- 4pm

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
