Component Repair Inspector - Industrial Gas Turbines
Job description
SUMMARY
Responsible for performing various inspection tasks on Gas Turbine engine components in accordance with WGPW established methods and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the Knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to pass quality eye exam and have good written and verbal communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including but are not limited to the following:
- Maintains a safe and clean work area and adheres to all housekeeping requirements. Follows all safety procedures and rules and properly wears all safety protective equipment as required.
- Able to read and understand Pratt & Whitney engine manuals, service bulletins, illustrated parts catalogs, standard practice manuals and WGPW approved technical data.
- Able to use basic shop measuring equipment including Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Dial Indicators, Bore Gages, Snap Gages, and PI-Tapes.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Able to perform data entry. Generate process travelers and Vendor Shipping Orders.
- Work overtime as required.
- Conducts oneself in a business-like manner and in the spirit of teamwork.
- May be required to work in other WGPW Inspection departments due to fluctuating workloads.
- Working knowledge of the Overhaul and Repair procedure and processes.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
3+ years of previous experience in the Quality Control. Experience in the overhaul and repair of aviation components is a strong plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Must have the ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and shop math as they relate to inspection or trouble shooting.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems using pre-existing standards. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle parts.
· The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
