General Description:
Under the direction of the Director of Strategic Services, the Compliance Specialist takes Corporate Compliance and Risk Management principles and applies those to best practice within the organization. Applications center around development, implementation and monitoring of the organization’s compliance and risk management activities as a means to proactively identify and mitigate operational risks reflective of legal statutes and professional ethics.
Job Summary:
Job duties may include but are not limited to implement and develop regulatory compliance and risk management strategies. Reviewing documentation and procedures, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on compliance-related issues, collaborating in the development and implementation of the compliance and risk management plan and establishing standards for compliance audits. Oversee compliance training activities for agency personnel.
Qualifications and Skills:
Knowledge of relevant regulations and strong familiarity of corporate compliance and risk management practices sufficient to enhance the organization in understanding and addressing legal obligations; and promote organizational integrity through the operation of an effective compliance/risk management program. Bachelor's degree in the field of regulatory specialization is preferred, such as law, finance, health care compliance or risk management. Minimum of 1 year experience in a Compliance role, preferably in healthcare. Preferably certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) by HCCA or, Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) by SCCE.
