About the role
As a Compliance and Ethics Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support for the multiple compliance programs administered by that office. Other key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with tracking, collecting, enforcing and processing of compliance documentation received as part of the new business intake process, including engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, and waivers
- Supporting the firm's ethics walls program, including entering ethics walls into security software and responding to inquiries about wall drafting and restrictions
- Updating lateral attorney information in the conflicts database
- Providing support as needed to the New Business Intake team, including updating referral methods for new clients in the intake system
- Supporting the Conflicts Analyst group with compiling statistics, corporate research, and other ad hoc requests as needed
- Assisting with preparation and follow up of quarterly lobbying compliance reports and organizing related firm and client records
- Assisting with coordination and tracking of attorney external affiliation submissions for review and approval, and the maintenance of database records of all affiliations
About you
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Exemplify well-developed and professional interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively interface with attorneys, management, and support staff
- Demonstrate an ability to identify and analyze problems and develop strategies to solve them
- Display strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exhibit organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
And have:
- A Bachelor's degree; four (4) years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree
- At least one (1) year relevant experience (ideally in a law or professional services firm)
