QARI (Quincy Asian Resources, Inc.) is a not-for-profit social service organization dedicated to fostering and improving the social, cultural, economic, and civic lives of immigrants and their families. Through collaborations and partnerships, QARI provides culturally competent services, such as workforce development, adult education programs, youth development, and cultural events as well as information and referrals to public or other community partners. We are seeking a candidate with passion in community work to join our team and help our immigrant clients to succeed through QARI’s services and programs.

Under the direction of the Massachusetts Manager of Programs & Services, the Community Initiatives Lead will serve as a liaison between QARI and the immigrant community in Quincy, Randolph, and Greater Boston to help launch new projects and identify opportunities for growth. The Lead will be responsible for program development, communication strategy, outreach, and relationship building to support new program areas, including energy and climate projects, food security, refugee support, and other special projects as needed. The Lead will work closely with QARI’s core departments - Family & Community Services, Youth, and Adult Education - to support effective collaboration and integration of special projects across the organization. The Lead will also support general community outreach, including translation, developing communications materials, and direct services with clients. This includes providing interpretation in school meetings with parents, representing QARI at community events, coordinating outreach activities, and building relationships with community partners. Candidates must be fluent (speaking, reading and writing) in English and /or Vietnamese, and/or Haitian Creole.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead program planning and coordination for new grant-funded projects, including Mass Save Community First Partnership in Quincy and Randolph, clean transportation outreach, and mobile food distribution project.
  • Serve as Energy Advocate for Quincy and Randolph and collaborate closely with municipal agencies for energy outreach programs.
  • Develop program plans, outreach strategy, and evaluation for new initiatives.
  • Manage program data collection and reporting to funders and partners.
  • Collaborate with Family & Community Services, Adult Education, and Youth Departments to coordinate outreach activities and events, including family engagement activities.
  • Work closely with schools, health partners, local agencies, and other partners to strengthen QARI’s client relationships and connect to new resources and referrals.
  • Support organizational communications strategy to increase participation in QARI’s core programs (i.e. Citizenship, ESOL, Workforce, SNAP assistance) and publicize new programs.
  • Provide translation or interpretation support as needed for clients to better navigate available resources.
  • Support youth mentoring programs and identify new program opportunities and partners to support youth development.
  • Support special events, such as youth forums or volunteer activities.
  • Represent QARI in regional collaborative meetings and events as needed.
  • Provide integrated client services, including referrals to QARI programs and other community resources such as SNAP, housing, and healthcare applications.
  • Identify new client needs, available resources, and barriers to services to improve program outcomes and delivery.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

*Skills & Qualifications:

  • Required bilingual candidate, including oral and written proficiency, in English and Vietnamese.
  • Bachelor’s degree or related. Additional work experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of the community served.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Community member who is familiar with the South Shore/Greater Boston and aware of resources available to immigrant youth and families.
  • Demonstrated use of technology and online applications (G Suite, Google Meet/Drive, Zoom)
  • Knowledge of and experience working in multicultural settings.
  • Flexible schedule--some evenings and school vacation days based on students’ needs as agreed upon by the Manager.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
