COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT REPRESENTATIVE JOB POSTING

ROLE:
This position will assist in the development and delivery of financial education activities and community relations programs directed at the communities served by Oklahoma Community Credit
Union as well as individual Members. This role will also promote Oklahoma Community's brand and services to members, potential members, small businesses and employee groups and when needed connect them with our Member Services or Lending teams for assistance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct outreach with community organizations, schools, businesses, non-profit organizations, city leaders, human service agencies, and other similar organizations and agencies that support the local community.
  • Develop and deliver financial education workshops and similar Credit Union presentations to a variety of public groups/agencies that serve our market and, as a result, increase awareness of the Credit Union's products and services.
  • Prepare new and refine existing written or digital financial education materials as needed. Provide members with one-on-one financial education as appropriate.
  • Be able to connect nonprofit and community organizations with the credit union's donor advised fund - OK Community Cares.
  • Identify the financial needs of our target market, recommend new products and services based on perceived target market needs and wants, and then refer those opportunities to Member Services or Lending representatives as warranted.
  • Acts as an informal contact between the credit union and community partner organizations.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Marketing, President/CEO and other Credit Union leadership to maintain these relationships.
  • Participate in the implementation of financial education programs for Credit Union staff development, working with specific Credit Union staff as appropriate.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:

  • Effectively communicate program to targeted groups by delivering materials (oral and/or written) in appropriate language (Spanish/English).
  • Accurately prepare and deliver periodic progress reports and year-end program evaluation.
  • Generate basic reports in a timely manner for program tracking, evaluation, and fundraising purposes.
  • Provide a needs assessment analysis to identify community education needs in a timely manner.
  • Ensure program/project implementation activities are aligned with stated goals.
  • Provide informed, professional, accurate service and support to all Members and associates.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Experience One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.

Interpersonal Skills Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. The role requires a significant level of trust or diplomacy.

Other Skills Ability to present and teach information in a clear manner in front of large and small groups, or via online and through video formats.

Physical Requirements Ability to lift over 50 pounds and work on your feet for an extended period of time. The availability for travel to member and community events, as well as meetings and training held at other locations. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain an active Driver’s License.

Work Environment This position requires the availability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours. Typically work will be in an office setting, with presentation of the credit union at outdoor events.
