The Division of Finance & Administration at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for a full-time Communications Specialist. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor, the Communications Specialist will provide professional communications strategy and support to the Budget & Finance and Human Resources departments within the division of Finance & Administration. The position will develop communications plans as well as develop content for campus and external audience messaging, social media posts, presentations and digital marketing pieces. This role will also assist in creating a division-wide communication identity and strategy. This is the first such role in the division so there is there is opportunity for significant creativity.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- High school diploma plus 4 years of related experience
- Associate’s degree in communications or related field plus 3 years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field plus 1 year of related experience
- Ability to analyze metrics and alter strategy.
Experience includes writing/designing communications plans and advising departments and leaders in the area of communications strategy, writing for both internal and external constituency, including website/social media content, presentations, announcements, event and print content. Experience in professional role as well as experience gained as a student, intern or volunteer will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with communications experience in higher education.
