Job Description:
The Commercial Relationship Manager (CRM) is responsible for sourcing new C & I banking customers and the ongoing expansion and retention of commercial relationships. The CRM will structure, underwrite, negotiate, and manage relationships of various sizes and complexity. The CRM is also responsible for developing and executing commercial lending and relationship management plans for high value Customers; this includes effectively collaborating with: Internal Deposit, Operations Support, Loan Servicing, and Credit Administration teams, as well as Senior Management.

Essential Duties:
  • Developing new relationships including owner occupied commercial mortgages, SBA and industrial loans in order to expand the bank’s C & I customer base through disciplined and proactive business development and relationship management.
  • Takes a consultative approach to understanding the customer’s objectives, analyzes their needs, while effectively cross-selling the appropriate suite of loan and deposit products and services.
  • Discusses financing opportunities and general business conditions with existing customers, prospective customers, and B2B prospects.
  • May assist in forecasting customers’ business banking and credit needs and develop solutions to serve their financial needs.
  • Negotiates transactions, prices, loan products within targeted rate of return and ensures conformance with bank policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Represents the bank by actively participating in outside civic and community affairs, and other professional activities as appropriate.
  • Prepares Approval Memos, obtains credit approval, negotiates terms, and effectively documents credit actions and agreements.
  • Reviews underwriting
  • When required the CRM will present perspective loan opportunities to loan committee for approval.
  • Attends and facilitates loan closings.
  • Monitors individual portfolio for quality, risk and adherence to policies. As needed works with the appropriate staff and internal departments to resolve issues.
  • Analyzes problem credits and meets with customer to develop solutions to minimize loss and exposure.
  • Assists the Portfolio Management team with preparation of accurate and timely credit actions, including periodic reviews of accounts receivables and inventory, renewals and modifications.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, and/or commensurate work experience is required.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, with existing portfolio of customers and COIs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to take ownership of customer relationships with minimal supervision while effectively communicating with members of the Credit Administration team as well as senior management team.
  • Demonstrates ability cultivating working relationships with current customers and bank personnel; keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others; works ethically and with integrity; upholds organizational values.
Preferred Experience:
  • SBA Lending experience
  • Experience building relationships in a metropolitan market.
  • A high level of analytical skill to assess and evaluate loan risk, credit limitations and appraisals; have a thorough understanding of underwriting and financial data.
  • Bilingual
