This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining commercial/industrial boilers and all related boiler controls/components. We are looking for a natural gas propane, oil and powerflame burner service technician that is reliable, responsible, accountable, and trustworthy. It is also important that the technician has excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills and takes pride in their work. This is a full-time position working for a 60+ year family-owned company operating in installation and service for customers throughout the Southern Connecticut area. The technician must be able to adjust and install various commercial temperature controls and devices and have knowledge of electrical circuits and troubleshooting, in addition, fire up and adjust burners for maximum efficiency. The position includes great benefits and a competitive salary.

Essential Functions:

· Candidate must have direct hands-on experience and working knowledge in troubleshooting steam, hot water boilers, burners (gas & oil combustion), associated control systems, electrical combustion, heat pumps and associated piping systems.

· Troubleshoot & repair electrical wiring, relay logic, safety circuits, electronic boards for boilers and combustion failures

· Start-up & commission new replacement boiler systems including expansion tanks, pumps etc.

· Calibrate and adjust burner controls to obtain optimal boiler/burner performance

· Experience servicing and maintaining Gas & Oil Burners

· External/Internal boiler inspections.

· Boiler cleanings.

· Preventative maintenance

· Perform holistic diagnostic operations to determine opportunities for improve

· Communicate effectively with job site personnel, custodian, super, project managers, property managers, etc.

· Complete paperwork/documentation on the work performed (time, material used and recommendations)

· Work safely and use safety equipment; be familiar with and adhere to EPA and OSHA policies

· 5+ years commercial boiler field experience

· Comprehension of commercial/industrial HVAC building systems such as operating controls, heating controls, oil to gas boiler conversions, boilers, pumps/motors, distributed cooling/heating, replace hot water heaters and work on radiators etc.

· Able to lift up to 50 pounds

· Valid Driver’s License

· Strong team player

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $45.00 per hour
