Job description
This position is responsible for completing all accounts receivable collection activities and assisting with maintaining company credit policy within the established guidelines of company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for reconciling customer accounts within the accounting system by maintaining customer records and ensuring proper application of credit and cash payments; investigating discrepancy payments; making daily/weekly collection calls; and documenting customer collection correspondence onto the system.
- Responsible for resolving potential credit issues by analyzing customer payment histories; working with customer on delinquent accounts; and developing payment solutions or options.
- Responsible for providing weekly updates by distributing customer aging reports and past due reports to the Finance department.
- Responsible for communicating with the Sales and Commercial Services departments about customer order hold issues, including prepaid and write off accounts, must ship and no charge orders and customers with questionable payment history.
- Responsible for the analysis of customer orders and removing the credit holds.
- Responsible for calling on customer purchase order pricing discrepancies.
- Responsible for supporting management by maintaining a system of internal control, which ensures the safety of the company's assets and records.
- Responsible for assisting with special projects as assigned by Finance management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three to five years credit/collection experience.
- Must be dependable, well organized, and be able to communicate effectively and efficiently, both orally and in writing.
- PC literacy with solid knowledge of spreadsheet and work processing applications.
