What You'll Do at BCCS:
- Assist in real-time insurance verification to help front-end staff interpret the collections protocol for each of our payers
- Lead insurance verification efforts in real time to ensure that co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles are met according to the health insurance guidelines
- Collect co-payments, including cash, checks, and credit cards. Identify clients with outstanding balances and enforce collections on past-due bills. Take action to encourage timely payments.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and organization information
- Interact with clients, vendors, and visitors
- Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquires
- File and retrieve organizational documents, records, and reports
- Conduct monthly review of client statements in preparation for mailing and report patient statement irregularities/mistakes.
- Travel to assist with other sites when the collection process is not followed and/or when support is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to research information from a variety of sources
- Ability to interpret literature from a variety of sources
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Planning, organizational, and time management skills as well records management and general administration
- Attention to detail
- Writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills as well as creativity and resourcefulness in problem-solving situations
- Computer knowledge including software and hardware expertise
Qualifications for this position are:
- High school diploma REQUIRED
- Associates degree PREFERRED
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Accounts Receivable REQUIRED
- Minimum of 2 years' experience with General Office Responsibilities and Office Procedures PREFERRED
