Job description
This role will focus on running of all facets of the coating process, and their characterization using analytical techniques. The Coating Engineer coordinates engineering activities for the design, development, and implementation of coating products and manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include process development, process documentation, and support of coating operations including inspection as well as ensuring that design concepts comply with customers’ specifications. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, results-focused, and approachable demeanor.
Tasks and responsibilities
The applicant can then take over the management of the corrosion protection production area or the function of the corrosion protection engineer in the future. Associated with this are the following tasks:
- Contribute to the development/implementation of a corrosion protection center for offshore foundation structures
- Development and optimization of the processes for the coating process
- Examination and evaluation of customer requirements regarding corrosion protection measures
- Support in the coating-appropriate design of components incl. Testing and optimization of coating systems
- Control of the coating specifications of the subcontractors for compliance with the customer and EEW specifications
- Preparation of technical opinions regarding corrosion protection work
- Creation of purchasing specifications for corrosion protection
- Development of corrosion protection concepts for monopiles
- Damage analysis.
- Conducting internal and external audits
Requirements
- Successfully completed university education in a technical field (surface technology and corrosion protection)
- 2-5 years of professional experience in heavy corrosion protection
- Completed further training as a recognized coating inspector Level III (NS 476 FROSIO CERTIFIED or NACE) desirable
- Strong process thinking
- Hands-on mentality and self-confident appearance
- Strong communication skills, organizational skills, assertiveness, and flexibility
- Independent and structured way of working
- Confident handling of common MS Office programs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
