We build machines for the World's Roads, Airports and Bridges in Grundy Center, IA
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To properly program and machine parts as needed per specs provided.
- Be able to select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes and CNC.
- Assemble cutting tools in tool holders and position tool holders in machines spindles as specified, using had tools, or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines.
- Be able to load and unload pieces to be machined.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Be able to read blue prints and drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances
- Regulate machines for speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut, etc..
- Be able to use micrometers, calipers, dial guages, or other measuring devices to verify dimension and alignment.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- G&M CODE
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- BASIC POWER TOOLS
- ABILITY TO USE VARYING TYPES OF MEASURMENT EQUIPMENT
- BLUEPRINT READING
- BE A TEAM PLAYER AND ASSIST OTHER TEAM MEMEBERS WHERE NEEDED
