- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid state license or certification depending on clinic location (IL, IA, or MO) if applicable; CPR certification.
- Education and/or Experience
- One to two years of previous related experience in a clinical setting preferred.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
- Escorts patients to proper room and prepare patient for exam. Takes vital signs, reviews medications, preferred pharmacy, family history, social history including tobacco use, and allergies. Documents thorough and objective patient information.
- Assists provider with office exams, diagnostic treatment and procedures. Administers medications, injections, as directed by Provider.
- Makes necessary outgoing calls for referral appointments, medication refills and other needs for patient care. Ensures that accurate information is obtained and communicated to the provider and other licensed team members. Ensure that the patient understands Provider instructions regarding medications, treatment plan, diet, and procedures.
- Receives incoming calls. Check electronic medical record, In basket, and voicemail messages throughout the day.
- Ensures ancillary tests, procedures, and/or surgeries are scheduled as ordered by the Provider. Completes pre-certification form for surgeries and other required tests/procedures.
- Ensures test results and correspondence from other organizations is given to Provider for review. Under the guidance of the Provider, notifies patients of results by using patient portal, phone, or letter. Track ancillary tests by working the Work Ques. Follows up on the Overdue Folder and contacts patients to reschedule tests as needed.
- Keeps office area clean, orderly, well-stocked, and monitor supplies for expiration date. Sterilize instruments and equipment. Assists in maintaining equipment, remove and tag broken equipment and notify the coordinator.
- Cross trains and covers co-workers hours and duties as needed.
- Acts as a patient coach to patients including vulnerable patient populations by offering self-management support and care coordination.
