TITLE: Clubhouse Program Manager

SUPERVISOR: CEO

STATUS: Full-Time/ Exempt/ 40 hours per week

SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Clubhouse is a dynamic program that offers Seriously Mentally Ill (SMI) individuals hope, and the chance to move beyond their illness and achieve their full potential. The model is unique in that it is not clinical or illness-centered, instead focusing on the strengths of each individual and the power of the clubhouse community. The Program Manager will provide program oversight of the development of a new Clubhouse to people living with severe and persistent mental illness. This pilot program and financial planning process will serve as a basis on which other potential Clubhouse sites in community clinics can base their planning.

Successful candidates will understand and believe in recovery as a holistic, lifelong experience for people living with mental illness and have experience with psychosocial rehabilitation and/or the social practitioner model. The successful candidate will also have sufficient experience in managing or familiarity with peer-based psycho-social rehabilitation to oversee the development of a detailed implementation plan for a Westside Clubhouse.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Oversight, management, and participation in the implementation of the pilot Clubhouse.
  • Planning to Develop a Clubhouse culture that is welcoming, safe, and supportive for all and that involves the participation of candidate members and staff
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with community mental health agencies, funders, and other organizations in the local community. Research funding and financial structure of current club houses in California.
  • Draft and Manage projected Clubhouse budget; actively participate in fundraising and grant proposal preparation. Revise budget and funding sources planning to comments collected from Advisory Group, candidate members, and staff, and SF County funding authorities.
  • Staff and provide leadership to Clubhouse Advisory Committee. Work collaboratively with auspice agency and its Board of Directors on alignment of program/agency goals and objectives.
  • Work with management, staff, Advisory Board and Clubhouse members to establish policies and procedures for the program, including member recruitment and selection criteria.
  • Knowledge and comfort with mental health social practitioner model, therapeutic interventions, and crisis management.
  • Liaison with outside service providers to coordinate member services.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with program staff and other service providers.
  • Coordinate with Atlas Clarity staff in their partner project to support planning grant from CHCF to Westside.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Management experience in serving people living with severe mental illness.
  • Experience in social service or non-profit mental health agencies recommended.
  • Familiarity with funding sources for community based and Medi-Cal based social and behavioral health services.
  • Experience with Peer Based and Clubhouse Model
  • Experience with fundraising and grant writing.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $85,000.00 per year
