Overview:
The primary role of the Embedded Milieu Clinician is to work closely with the Worcester Youth Center staff to ensure that youth are receiving and/or connected to services which align with their identified needs, strengths and assessed level of risk. The Embedded Milieu Clinician shall be cognizant of each youth’s assessed level of risk and shall work with the casework team to develop and support the most effective approach to service coordination commensurate with each youth’s service need areas all while accounting for and providing opportunities to support each youth’s strengths. The Embedded Milieu Clinician will support the Worcester Youth Center’s staff by providing trauma informed training to staff, psycho-social and psycho-educational groups, therapeutic avenues for artistic expression, and therapeutic recreational activities to support the individualized needs of program participants. The Embedded Milieu Clinician will be responsible for engaging youth in recreational activities and for assessing and monitoring risk within a community-based milieu. The Embedded Milieu Clinician will make referrals to appropriate formal and informal community-based supports for needs that cannot be met onsite at the Worcester Youth Center.
The Embedded Milieu Clinician will actively participate in and provide feedback about the program’s work-plan development, program design, and performance management/quality improvement decisions.

$5,000 New Hire Sign-On Bonus (50% paid at 6 months and 50% paid at 12 months of continuous employment)

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct trauma informed support, referrals, and activities with a behavioral health lens to identified program participants.
- Provide therapeutic intervention in a milieu setting, including therapeutic groups and activities, crisis intervention, and behavior management.
- Provide training and support to Worcester Youth Center Staff that is aimed at developing and understanding of and skills in trauma-informed care, emotional regulation, impulse control and other relevant topics as identified.
- Establish relationships with community-based organizations to broaden and sustain an in-depth network of resources to meet the individual needs of youth and families.
- Knowledgeable of the specific services and needs of the transitional-aged youth population.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively engage youth in a strength-based and supportive manner.
- Attend Worcester Youth Center staff meetings and YOU, Inc. clinic team meetings/supervision.
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field required.
- Bilingual preferred, but not required.
- Experience working with transitional age youth with complex needs and backgrounds.
- Developing proficiency in individual/youth and family clinical care, as well as mental health, educational, developmental care, child welfare, and juvenile justice systems.
- Proof of a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable personal transportation to fulfill essential job functions is required.
- Demonstrated and/or developing competency with establishing a therapeutic rapport with clients.
- Developing proficiency in providing direct psychotherapeutic clinical care, including risk assessment, safety planning, general comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, service delivery, case management, and discharge/after-care planning.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, collaboration, ethics, appropriate boundaries and good judgment. Demonstrated ability to seek out supervision and consultation as needed.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills, timeliness, and ability to work effectively with others.
- Active CANS certification, required.
