Large, busy neurology practice is looking for a F/T Clinical Research Coordinator.

• Reads understands and is able to analyze the rationale, study design and study requirements of clinical trial protocols.
• Collects pertinent information and clinical data through medical records while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Reviews and analyzes source documentation to enter onto case report forms or electronic database as directed by Research RN or manager.
• Retrieves medical records, angiographic films, CDs, radiology films, echocardiography images, EKGs and procedural reports from appropriate departments for research patient records and/or submission to appropriate core labs.
• Assists in initiation of new clinical trials for pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Attends start-up meetings, summarizes protocols, and prepares documents for submission to sponsor and internal review committees.
• Reviews internal databases for screening of eligible research subjects for specific studies. Includes review of diagnostic tests, noninvasive and invasive procedures and reports. Coordinates patient selection with Research RN or manager to facilitate enrollment.
• Develops and initiates with research staff specific protocol designed source documentation and data collection tools to facilitate patient enrollment. Develops processes and patient flow during subject enrollment.
• Coordinates audit/monitor requests for documentation with research staff.
• Uses Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and research database for office files and coordination and organization including tracking of enrolled subjects, follow-up requirements, and financial information. Schedules time sensitive projects, patient follow-up and notify personnel of future deadlines.
• Coordinates retrospective or prospective research observational studies or registries. Obtains data from medical records and enters data into electronic database or alternative case report form as determined by Investigator or Study Sponsor.
• Provides inter-departmental coordination for each study protocol as needed. (Example- works with lab staff to ensure processing and shipping as per study protocol.
• Coordinates and implements research trials within the hospital as lead personnel or project manager.
• Assists in staff and physician training in research protocol trials
• Serves as a resource and mentor to junior research staff for clinical trials
• Completes all required training and completes all tasks as directed by department manager or director.

Requirements: Bachelor, Masters, or degree in health field with clinical or research experience.

Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
