Job Title: Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM)

Reports To: Managing Partners / Practice Manager

Position: Full-time (40 hours per week)

General Description: We seek a dedicated Pediatric Registered Nurse to lead and support a dynamic team as a Clinical Nurse Manager. That person will manage the daily clinical operations including clinical employee staffing, orientation of newly hired staff, scheduling of nurses and medical assistants in each office, patient and employee safety and daily clinical operations onsite. The Clinical Nurse Manager must work closely & collaboratively with the Front Office Supervisors, Practice Manager, Business/Billing Manager, Quality & Safety Manager and Providers. This candidate should be passionate about providing patient-centered care and should be willing to make quality improvements to better serve our pediatric patients.

Summary of Duties:

  • Is responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training of nurses, medical assistants and any other medical staff engaged in clinical care.
  • Evaluates the performance of clinical staff through feedback and mentoring programs to ensure efficient operations.
  • Responsible for two clinical assignments per week to maintain skills and information necessary to lead other clinical staff.
  • Coordinates educational and professional development training courses to enhance office staff ability to provide effective, efficient, and quality care. These courses typically include yearly OSHA, HIPPA and conflict of interest certifications.
  • Creates schedules for nurses and medical assistants on a monthly basis and is available to modify as needs arise including daily sick calls.
  • Oversees laboratory needs for each office and assures proper maintenance and equipment needs. Works with staff on proficiency testing and, on all licensures, required from state and state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Oversees acquisition of vaccines and storage including vaccine inventory, temperature monitoring, emergency vaccine management (eg power outages) and expiration dates.
  • Supervises ordering clinical supplies from vendors to ensure sufficient stock for each office. CNM will also work on an inventory structure to assure supplies are adequate and are cost controlled.
  • Works collaboratively with the Patient Centered Medical Home coordinator to ensure all clinical and quality areas are reviewed and maintained for accreditation.
  • Oversees medical waste storage and proper disposal.
  • Actively participates in weekly management meetings and will conduct monthly nursing meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Is a Licensed Registered Nurse within Massachusetts
  • Has a minimum two of years of experience in a pediatric clinical setting
  • Has exemplary leadership and management skills.
  • Has experience with EHR (electronic health records) and overall comfort with computers and health-related software including EPIC.
  • Has experience with software, including Excel to create spreadsheets for data management.
  • Has experience with and is comfortable working on a team.
  • Is passionate about working directly with pediatric patients and their families.
