Position Summary

The Clinical Assistant serves as a liaison between patients and providers by greeting, instructing, and directing patients and visitors. The Clinical Assistant is responsible for assisting providers in carrying out medical and administrative tasks in accordance with their scope of practice. In addition, rooming patients and gathering information about their areas of concern as well as maintaining all patient follow-up calls.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

· Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner; answers requests for information.

· Print patient charts prior to the day of their appointment.

· Insures HIPAA, Financial Policy, Insurance Information, Release of Information, and Notice of Privacy Practices is completed by the patient upon check in.

· Maintain all patient follow-up calls. Answers telephones and returns calls in a timely manner, taking messages, handling requests and providing accurate information as necessary.

· Handles mail, paperwork via fax, and medical records, assuring accuracy and completeness.

· Screens patients and visitors as needed.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education (Including Licenses and Certifications):

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: One to two year experience in a medical office setting is preferred.

Monday - Friday (no weekends or holidays)
40hrs/week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Pinehurst, NC 28374: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
