HIRING RANGE: $37,595 ($18/hour)
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
- Prepare equipment interchange and check bookings.
- Enter container location data in N4, Port’s terminal operating system.
- Perform yard checks and inventories.
- Perform container and chassis inspections, noting physical condition on TIR.
- Assist with Queen City Express rail service daily operations.
- Ability or willingness to operate a reach stacker and act as a backup reach stacker operator, who will be required to mount/dismount containers (loaded and empty) to and from chassis.
- Generate monthly and weekly reports as required.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
- Must be able to read and identify container numbers and operate large container handling equipment in a safe manner.
- Excellent customer service and basic computer skills required. Knowledge of MS Excel is a plus.
- Dependability and punctuality are a must.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet TWIC security requirements.
