DRC Industries is a full-service manufacturing and converting operation in a 150,000ft facility in Carrollton, KY. Our customers are steel mills, metal processors, food & beverage manufacturers, contract packaging/fulfillment facilities, furniture manufacturers, automotive suppliers, agricultural industries, and the flooring protection/polishing.
To keep up with the needs of our growing business, we are in immediate need of a Local Class A CDL Driver.
Essential Functions:
- Safely deliver freight in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks of equipment.
- Comply with all Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier, and state and local laws and regulations regarding safety and compliance.
- Adhere to company safety and operational policies and procedures.
- Proactively communicate service issues with driver manager.
- Immediately notify driver manager of an accident/incident involving equipment damage or an on-the-job injury, and complete the proper forms in a timely fashion.
- Turn in legible, accurate and complete paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintain professional contact with customers and other carriers.
- Load and unload trucks
- Carefully follow instructions and directions.
Job Specifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License with Class A certification and ability to drive company equipment including Dry Vans, Flat Beds and Conestogas
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year experience driving motor vehicle transportation requiring Class A certification
- Knowledge of and compliance with DOT regulations
- Occasional requirement - Lifting: up to 40lbs; Push/Pull: up to 30lbs; Carry: up to 20lbs
- Must be able to frequently perform repetitive hand and foot movements to operate controls.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime, weekend and holiday coverage based on customer requirements
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently with a customer friendly attitude
