What we’re looking for…

• 1-5 years claims/insurance, legal/paralegal, or freight experience.
• Knowledge of reviewing and writing contracts is a huge plus.
• Advanced MS Excel, communication, attention to detail and analytical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Investigate claims to ascertain validity of claims and extent of company liability.
• Processes freight and property claims for which company is liable and submits claims to head office for settlement, or negotiates settlement with claimant and authorizes payment.
• Communicate with customers, insurance companies, surveyors, and others regarding claim status and claim-related matters.
• Tracks and maintains record of legal cases and claims to evaluate the relevance.
• Keeps current on industry regulations and trends.
• Assists the Sales team by selling and procuring Cargo insurance

Work Schedule

New York Office 9:00 am-6:00 pm EST

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced level experience with Microsoft Office. There will be an excel assessment provided during the interview process.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• 1-5 years experience in the claims/insurance or legal field
• Experience in freight forwarding is a plus

Salary

The salary for this position ranges from $55,000-$60,000 annually based off related years of experience and education level.
