Located in Wichita, Kansas, Aerospace Turbine Rotables (AeTR) is an FAA certified repair station which overhauls and repairs landing gear, landing gear components and actuators, control surface components, and aircraft lighting components. We also specialize in hydrostatic testing and Stratoflex hoses.

AeTR is seeking a Quality Inspector that will ensure high quality and efficiency in daily work operations while maintaining safety regulations and requirements.

Chief Inspector (AeTR)

Responsibilities:

To ensure the quality standard of all work performed in the Repair Station is maintained at the highest possible level and in compliance with all applicable Regulations and Manufacturers’ specification and recommendations.

  • Ensure that repair station technicians and QC Inspectors comply with the Repair Station Manual / Quality Control Manual (RSM/QCM).Provide initial, recurring, and remedial RSM/QCM training for repair station employees.

Ensure that Repair Station employees use the correct forms, including parts tags, in compliance with the RSM/QCM.
Ensure that Preliminary Inspections, In-Process Inspections, Functional Tests, Final Inspections, and Return To Service (RTS) comply with the RSM/QCM.

  • Oversee the Tool Calibration program, in accordance with the RSM/QCM.
  • Conduct in process inspections, evaluation of in process work packages and troubleshooting problems.
  • Provide for continuity of inspection responsibility, assuring completion of required inspections when personnel shift or assignment changes occur.
  • See that rejected and unserviceable parts are handled in such a way as to prevent their reuse as serviceable.
  • Ensure the company’s Finance Department maintains files of completed work orders in such a manner that the file pertaining to a specific item can be readily located for review.
  • Manage the application process for Repairman Certificates, in accordance with the RSM/QCM.
  • Ensure the use of proper documentation throughout the Repair Station.
  • Ensure all personnel affected by regulatory notices are aware of changes and updates.

Requirements:

  • FAA A&P certification
  • At least 10 years of component repair and overhaul experience.
  • 3-5 years of quality inspector or similar within an aerospace repair station or manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a strong understanding of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, inspection methods and equipment used to determine airworthiness including reviewing and interpreting both FAA and Military maintenance manuals
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT skills

Salary position starting range $70,000-$80,000

Must meet ITAR oversight citizenship requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • component repair and overhaul: 10 years (Preferred)
  • quality inspector or similar with an aerospace repair: 3 years (Preferred)
