Teach multiple levels of Chemistry and one Earth Science class. Create and implement hands on labs connected with the curriculum and common coreDemonstrate, design, and implement chemical, physical and mathematical concepts using models, presentation, collaborative student investigations, sensors and student-generated data, and other standard and/or teacher-prepared instructional aid.Maintain chemical and equipment inventory database with support of colleagues and department chairProvide opportunities when needed for individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil. Implement learning activities that will relate mathematics and scientific concepts to personal experience and the physical worldCoach all students in a manner that establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and academic rigor needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.Evaluate each pupil's progress in science and mathematical knowledge, skills, and application; identify pupil needs. Cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, behavior and learning concerns.Communicate with families, plus appropriate colleagues and support staff to interpret, share, and then bolster each pupils progress.Participate in curriculum and other professional development programs.Maintain professional competence by actively participating in department and faculty meetings, through in-service education activities, and in self-selected professional growth activities.Share in the sponsorship of student activities such as science clubs and other extracurricular activitiesWe are a small department with great pride in both our diversity of course offerings and student body.
