Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a certified occupational therapy assistant who is able to work two days per week with the potential to add more hours as the need develops. Come join our dynamic and creative team of therapists, teachers and paraprofessionals to facilitate skill acquisition of the students within our school. Therapy is provided as a related service throughout the school day between the hours of 9-3:45.

Responsibilities:

• Provide therapy services to the children in our school from kindergarten to twelfth grade through direct therapy sessions and/or consultative services to the educational staff working with the students
• Support the staff (teachers, other therapists, paraprofessionals and families) with both collaboration and consultation to facilitate classroom participation
• Maintain record keeping with data collection, periodic progress monitoring narratives and IEP program plans
• Assist in the evaluation and re-evaluation of students in conjunction with the occupational therapists
• Attend IEP meetings and staff meetings as needed

Qualifications and Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program which is approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
• Licensed in Pennsylvania as a certified occupational therapy assistant
• Certified in BLS CPR
• Experience within a children’s setting preferred

The candidate will be required to meet the mandates of the Child Protective Services Act including Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, FBI fingerprint based federal criminal records check and the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare Child Abuse criminal background clearance.
