BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION:

Behavior Technicians (BTs) will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). They are responsible for providing direct behavioral therapy to individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. BT's implement Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) programs, as written by the BCBA. BT’s will be responsible for teaching life skills and remediating skill deficits and eliminating problem behaviors. Behavior Technicians work in a variety of settings including in client’s homes, LEAPS centers, and school-based settings.

BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • COVID-19 Vaccination Required per WA State Regulations
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to complete training within 3 weeks and receive Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) license
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to interact in a positive and collegial manner with fellow staff members, families, and clients

BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN PREFERED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Enrolled in college/university with 2 years of college coursework completed in psychology or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field
  • Experience implementing ABA programs
  • One year of experience/exposure to autism professionally or personally (e.g., through family/friends)
