Description

Maintains, repairs rebuilds or overhauls aircraft support equipment. May include diagnosing, determining the extent of repairs required, replacing worn or broken parts, grinding, rebuilding, overhauling, and repairing equipment. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level mechanics for position-relevant tasks.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
Operates and performs operational checks on ground support equipment, including forklifts, tow tractors, and various weight-handling equipment.
Performs Daily and Preventative Maintenance inspections on ground support and weight-handling equipment.
Performs Daily and Preventive Maintenance on vehicles including servicing all fluids and filters.
Performs troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
Track the Site’s vehicle fleet to ensure completion of preventive maintenance inspections, state safety inspections, and vehicle registration.
Uses publications to inspect, service, and repair ground support and weight-handling equipment.
Uses publications to train others in operation and perform operational checks on ground support and weight-handling equipment.
Checks out and turns in ground support equipment as required.
Performs tire and wheel build-up.
Completes applicable maintenance forms.
Identifies and treats corrosion.
Performs other related duties as required.
Maintains cleanliness of the work center.
Complies with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, and Tool Control programs.
Complies with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment.
Ensures safety, security, and preservation of Government and Company Owned equipment.

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Two years relevant experience performing or assisting functional duties under the oversite of more senior positions and one year experience performing functional duties independently. Demonstrated use of technical publications and guidance. Demonstrated upkeep of equipment logs and records. Knowledge of supply/ logistics policies and procedures.

Other Desired Experience: Two years of NAWC/ NAVAIR experience.
