The Case Aide position supports the Foster Care program and the Foster Care Case Managers. This includes driving company vehicles to transport children to and from school and medical appointments, placements, and providing adminstrative support from the Haymarket, VA location.

Bilingual in Spanish and English is required as well as a good driving record. Must be able to pass FBI and CPS background investigations.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Works directly with Case Manager for completion of Family Reunification Packet (FRP).
  • Assist Case Managers with the facilitation of discharges
  • Ensure files are compliant with the Department of Social Services (DSS) and federal government regulations as directed by Lead Case Manager and Quality Assurance Coordinator.
  • Provide customer service support for incoming calls and/or inquiries from sponsors regarding UAC reunification.
  • Perform administrative duties as requested, including creating documents and reports, filing, phone calls, scanning, data entry, inventory and order office supplies, etc.
  • Assist Case Managers in the maintenance and/or modification of agency data collection system and assist with completion of necessary statistical reports as requested.
  • Serve as interpreter for Spanish speaking residents and others with limited language capacity as needed.
  • Attend all training mandated by YFT.
  • All duties and responsibilities will support meeting the structured program of care outlined in DBHDS and DSS state standards (DBHDS: 12VAC 35-46-800; DSS: 22 VAC 40-151-720).
  • Other duties as assigned by the CEO, Director of Program Services or Lead Case Manager - IFC.
  • Transportation to and from school, medical appointments and placements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of a High School diploma, proof of education required
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate well with agencies, parents, and youth
  • Able to work full time and in person. Ability and willingness to work some early mornings, evenings and weekend days.
  • Minimum two years clerical or administrative experience with typing skills with at least 50 WPM
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of general office machines and telephone system
  • Ability to travel for short business trips
  • Experience working with at-risk and minor refugee youth highly preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required
