PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Ministry Assistants primary responsibility is to provide ministry support to the Campus pastor, Worship pastor, Northview Students Pastor, Northview Kids Pastor and Groups & Teams Director. This position requires weekend responsibilities. This position is a nonexempt full-time hourly position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Gives ministry away

Accounting/Database Duties:

  • Becomes proficient with the church database and updates the attendee/member records with current information
  • Performs all campus related accounting functions which includes maintaining petty cash fund, submitting expense vouchers and reimbursements, and making bank deposits

Communication Duties:

  • Drafts correspondence (grief, baptisms, welcome letters, etc.)
  • Coordinates communications with volunteer ministry leaders by sending out schedules and details of upcoming events
  • Welcomes and greets new visitors to the office
  • Answering and directing incoming phone calls and emails person
  • Records staff meeting minutes

Scheduling/Planning Duties

  • Maintains website calendar, Outlook Office and room usage calendars through calendar planning
  • Leads team to submit info for the Worship Program

Office Duties

  • Maintains and orders the office & church supplies
  • Coordinates with the IT department to fix network or computer issues
  • Maintains the copiers, printers, or any other equipment in the office
  • Stocks ministry catalogs and guest gift bags at info counter
  • Stocks & prepares supplies (tithe envelopes, info cards, note pads, pencils, etc.) for auditorium
  • Oversees administrative procedures and processes at the campus
  • Acts as an administrative liaison with internal and/or external sources
  • Responds to emails and voicemails within 24 hours

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not directly supervise other employees but does work with volunteers and must have an understanding that volunteers are key to the ministry of the church. The employee must have a heart to recruit, train, equip and support volunteers in fulfilling their roles.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED and one to three years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience includes work in an administrative or support role.
