JOB SUMMARY

The Remote Therapist position provides Tele-Behavioral Health services to Bay Cal Health clients with liaises between patients, departments, and resources to assess, plan, and coordinate patient treatment.

  • The Remote Therapist is assigned responsibility to oversee the administration of coordinated care and ensure that each patient receives high-quality therapeutic clinical services.
  • This is a permanent Remote Telehealth position (Work from Home)
  • California LCSW required

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct assessment and treatment of psychological disorders, substance use disorders, and psychosocial issues.
  • Create and follows care plan through effective health coaching and risk management, involving training clinic staff in areas related to behavioral health.
  • Responsible for assessing and addressing risk and crisis intervention, escalating high-risk clinical concerns to supervisor and client.
  • Responsible for the final review, approval, and submission of all program-related reports, ensuring the program’s relevance to patients and funders.
  • Document and submit all client-related Reportable Event forms.
  • Serves as the main contact for patients and families, and responds to all patient inquiries; responsible to ensure client’s needs are met.
  • Perform comprehensive behavioral health services including, but not limited to, intake evaluations, assessments, crisis intervention, ad hoc counseling, individual/family/group intervention, treatment planning, collateral assessment/intervention, and outreach.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, protocols, and paperwork, forms, and data on an ongoing basis to ensure the program's relevance and usability to patients and clinic staff, and funders.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation regarding all interactions with the client, provider, and interdisciplinary team, using appropriate systems and procedures in a timely manner, per agency policies.
  • Attends staff meetings, in-services, training, and other meetings as requested.
  • Participate in special projects, and assist with additional duties or tasks, as assigned by Bay Cal Health management.
  • Must adhere to all federal, state, and local laws/legislations as applicable as well as HIPAA laws and regulatory agencies.
  • Work flexible schedule as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:

  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist, LCSW in CA; maintained at all times.
  • Ability to support both children and adults for clinical therapy service provision.
  • Experience in a community health setting and/or in serving ethnically, linguistically, culturally diverse low-income populations.
  • Previous experience of case management or clinical experience, and responsibility for a large caseload for an extended period.
  • Demonstrated expertise in crisis management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently in Start-Up/ Merger agency environment.
  • Able to conduct strengths-based, client-centered psychosocial assessments and refer clients for clinically appropriate services.
  • Able to demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Able to work with sensitive information, maintain confidentiality with professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent customer service and client services philosophy in all interactions.
  • Excellent computer, analytical, and research skills, including the ability to learn unfamiliar programs quickly.
  • A commitment to the values of the organization while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, patience, and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, stand for up to 6-8 hours a day.
  • Visual and auditory ability to work with patients, staff, and others in the workplace continuously.
  • Ability to utilize computers, cell phone, fax machine, telephone, and copy machine.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively within the workplace, read and write using the primary language within the workplace.
