Arena Food Service, Inc., a privately owned and fast growing food service management company, is currently seeking to fill multiple positions for experienced Cafeteria Associates at our facility in University Park, Illinois.

We are searching for experienced and energetic Cafeteria Associates to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, is passionate about the food and beverage industry and enjoys working with people. The Cafeteria Associate plays a key role in our energetic team of food and beverage enthusiasts who are driven to provide excellent customer service. You’ll have the opportunity to be part of a fun atmosphere where both customers and employees have a great experience that’s welcoming and engaging.

The successful candidate will work within the fast paced food and beverage department in a university setting ensuring great customer service. The successful Cafeteria Associate will work directly under the Food Service Director to support the cafe management team to facilitate the completion of a variety of tasks related to the cafe. Tasks may include barista and cashier duties as well as cleaning, stocking, dish washing and other related functions. Successful candidates will be able to work independently and efficiently with a wide range of customers and co-workers.

Successful candidates are flexible in schedule with availability between 7am-9pm, Monday-Saturday with occasional Sunday hours, based on the demands of business and activities within the University.

• C-Store Attendant

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Adhere to recipe and presentation guidelines in accordance with established corporate parameters.
• Assist guests and team members with the utmost respect and courtesy.
• Present a professional demeanor that communicates a corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest in each guest's needs.
• Works directly under the supervision of the Food Service Director or Shift Supervisor.
• Ensure a clean and sanitary environment.
• Follow health and safety guidelines.
• Store stock and supplies appropriately in order to maintain cleanliness and efficiency.

To be considered for this position, a successful candidate:

• At least 1 year of service in the food service industry preferred.
• Experienced and comfortable with working busy shifts.
• Friendly and outgoing attitude with great customer service skills.
• Will be able to read, write and understand English with exceptional communication skills.
• Will be in good mental and physical condition.
• Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time. Typical shifts can be as long as 9 hours.
• Must be able to consistently lift 30+ pounds and occasionally 50+ pounds.
• Must be able to squat, bend, lift, reach and safely carry hot beverages.
• Will be able to work productively with a diverse group of co-workers.
• Will enjoy providing excellent customer service to a wide range of customers including students, staff, faculty and high-level visitors.
• Will be flexible in schedule.
• Must be available to work weekends and occasional evenings.
• Must have an Illinois Food Handler Certificate or commit to attaining such certification with 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
