General Description: Assists with general operations of North Star Coffee. Perform routine food service activities related to serving food and beverages; perform cashiering duties in the sale of food and drink items to customers; maintain cleanliness of café facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet customers, take orders.
• Prepare hot or cold beverages; Brew coffee and tea, and fill containers with requested beverages.
• Prepare facilities for the serving of food and beverage; stock necessary supplies.
• Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes, to keep equipment and facilities sanitary.
• Maintain work areas and serving areas in a clean, sanitary and safe condition; wash and clean counters and tables.
• Portion and serve food to customers according to established procedures.
• Count money and prepare cash registers with appropriate amount and denominations of change.
• Assist with ordering items needed to replenish supplies.
• Maintain a clean and orderly dining area.

Work Schedule: Monday and Saturday 8am-12:30pm (Flexibility to meet agency needs)

Physical Demands:

• Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
• Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Requires bending, squatting, reaching.
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 30 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Completion, some experience in food service preferred.
