Responsibilities/Duties
· The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the Engineers, Geologists, Operations Managers, Civil Surveyors, and other technical staff in the preparation of drawings, designs, and figures associated with technical documents.
· Organization, communication, attention to detail, and design skills will be essential to efficiently produce quality products, while meeting schedules on multiple, concurrent tasks.
· Design products will primarily support ongoing remedial construction activities at multiple FUSRAP sites including investigation, impacted soil excavation, utility modifications, and property restoration. Technical support will be required during design, planning, implementation, and completion (as-built) project phases.
· Must be able to execute multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
· Local travel in the St. Louis area may be required.
Required Skills
Required skills include:
- Strong knowledge of and demonstrated experience with AutoCAD (release 2014 or above).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Able to work with and maintain confidential information; and able to work under detailed quality assurance/quality control programs
- Must be able to maintain CAD standards and drawing layer management.
Preferred Skills
Experience and working knowledge related to the integration of AutoCAD with ArcGIS, working knowledge of, and work experience with Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Carlson Civil software. Previous experience supporting a variety of remedial construction activities.
Required Experience
· A minimum of 2-4 years of experience performing the duties of a civil CAD Operator or similar title is required.
· Experience developing and working with surveying/mapping data, state-plane coordinates, grading plans, utility drawings and locations, vertical and horizontal alignments, cross-sections, three-dimensional surfaces, and earthwork volumes for civil design projects is required.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience performing the duties of a civil CAD Operator for large remediation projects is preferred. Experience with drawings associated with deep excavations, structural bracing and creek/river excavation is preferred. Experience with real-time data acquisition, including GIS, is preferred. Experience analyzing field sketches and notes to prepare drawings in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
Required Education
This position requires a minimum High School Diploma plus a minimum of 2 - 4 years of additional training or education in the area of specialization.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to apply project-specific CAD Standards to design plans.
